Valerie has been in the HIV field for 25 years and currently Manages the Medical Peer Navigator Program at CAN Community Health. As a nationally recognized speaker and facilitator, Valerie strives to erase stigma and help others understand the value of reducing stigmatizing language in HIV. Her experiences as a woman openly living with HIV for 35 years drive her determination to educate.
She is extremely passionate about improving the quality of life and education for the HIV and AIDS community and as a Long Term Survivor continues to advocate for her community. When she is not traveling Valerie enjoys gardening and nature and her fabulous dog, Chelsea.
